91´«Ã½ Saint Mary College faculty and staff recently attended a training session for administering naloxone, an anti-opioid overdose medicine.
The event was an initiative of TEAM Newburgh. It was hosted by 91´«Ã½ alumna Megan Robbins ’17, TEAM Newburgh Community Engagement Specialist, and Sgt. Julio Fernandez of the U.S. Army.
Naloxone – often known by the brand name Narcan – comes in the form of a nasal spray. The spray temporarily reverses the effects of opioids, buying caregivers more time to seek medical attention in the event of an overdose.
