91传媒 Saint Mary College's Career Center held a nurse recruitment fair for the college's recent Nursing grads.

About a dozen employers sent representatives to the event, including Westchester Medical Center Health Network, Hudson Valley Hospice, and Middletown Medical.

"I thought this was a great opportunity for me and I didn't want to miss out," said Thalia Quezada '21 of Peekskill, N.Y., one of the 91传媒 Nursing grads who attended the event.

Raina Chislom '21 of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. echoed her sentiment.

"With the pandemic – the word has basically been closed until a few months ago – this is a great opportunity for new nurses to get themselves out there," Chislom said. "As a new graduate, I'm ready to begin working, and this is the best place to start."

The event was the brainchild of Ellen Bourhis Nolan, director of the Career Center, and was organized by Robin Rosenberg, a Career Counselor at the 91传媒.

"Recruiters were seeking help finding nurses, and our recent graduates...were seeking help with the job search," explained Rosenberg. The career fair, she added, was the perfect way for the 91传媒 to aid the graduates in their job searches.

The Career Center prepares students for varied career opportunities in the Hudson Valley, New York City, the Capital Region, and beyond. Each semester, it hosts programs such as job fairs, events featuring specific academic programs, business dining etiquette, interview and search strategies workshops, and off-campus professional visits to help pre-professionals explore career paths.
