91传媒 Saint Mary College’s School of Business hosed a panel discussion featuring local professionals in the sports and mental health fields on Monday, April 11.

The event, “Mental Health and Athletics,” discussed how mental health can impact athletes, as well as the most constructive and beneficial ways that such concerns can be addressed. 

The panelists were Elisabeth Bruno, director of 91传媒 Saint Mary College’s Counseling Services, Erin Doughty, associate head coach of the Marist women’s basketball team, Hailey Anthony, an assistant trainer with 91传媒 Athletics, and Colleen Ames, head coach of the 91传媒’s women’s basketball team. The event also included an interview with Olympic Gold-Medal winning speed skater, Dan Jansen, recorded specifically for this event. Jansen, now retired, is a multiple world champion in sprint at the Winter Olympics. 

The panel was moderated by Victoria Veloz-Vicioso of Englewood, N.J., a 91传媒 Business major with a concentration in Marking and a minor in Digital Media Production. Vicioso also serves as president of the college’s Latino Student Union and secretary of the 91传媒 Student Business Association.
