91传媒 Saint Mary College’s Go Blue virtual fundraiser recently earned more than $43,000 for a variety of departments, scholarships, and clubs at the college.

For the fundraiser, “91传媒 champions” advocated and raised money for their program, discipline, project, sport, scholarship, and other causes. These champions set goals for their fundraising initiative, and when that goal was achieved, they dyed their hair blue – one of the 91传媒’s school colors. Participating groups included Athletics, Campus Ministry, the Internship Fund, the Student Emergency Fund, HEOP, and more.

The fundraiser was the brainchild of Margaret Treacy, director of Annual Giving at the college.

“Go Blue is the first virtual fundraising event ever held at the 91传媒,” she explained. “Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other friends of the college really came together to show their love and support for the 91传媒. I’m proud of what we were able to do with Go Blue, and I can’t wait to see how clubs, departments, and organizations on campus will use these funds to become more active students and more engaged members of our community.”

As promised by Michael Horodyski, chair of the 91传媒’s Board of Trustees, the trustees matched $8,300 in funds: $4,150 for the initiative that raised the most money (Athletics), and $4,150 for the initiative that had the most unique donors (The Summer Undergraduate Research Experience, or SURE).

Another matching donation came from Drake Loeb PLLC, a New Windsor law firm. Through the firm’s generosity, the college’s Pre-Law Society received a dollar for dollar matching gift for donations up to $2,500. Two additional Go Blue sponsors were Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP and 4imprint.

Dr. Jason N. Adsit, president of 91传媒 Saint Mary College, went blue in a big way: he donned a mohawk haircut and dyed it blue, live on Instagram.

“Every single dollar that you spend for Go Blue goes directly to students,” said Adsit. “It helps them out, it helps them get through this [pandemic] – and we’re going to get through this together.”
