Dina Leduc, assistant director of Health Services, and Drew Brown, Athletic director at 91传媒 Saint Mary College, recently collaborated with Orange County Stop DWI to highlight the impacts of unsafe driving. 

The Lewis Henry Morgan Institute’s “One Second” Exhibit Series, now on display at the 91传媒, explores the stories of crash victims across New York State. These forensic-style exhibits focus on risk factors such as drunk and drugged driving, excessive speed, phone use and texting while driving, and the importance of seatbelt use. Each exhibit consists of statements from those involved in the accidents, local news coverage, pre- and post-timelines of the events of the accidents, and the aftermath as detailed through victim statements. 

Leduc and Brown brought the exhibit to the 91传媒 to make students more aware of the consequences and impact their decisions can have on themselves and others. Poor choices can be life-changing and happen in the blink of an eye. 

“Our hope is that students read these stories and it makes them stop and think before they do something that they cannot take back,” said Leduc. “We also hope that if they see a friend about to make a bad choice, that they’ll ‘see something, say something.’”
